Flood Mitigation And Street Beautification With Bioswales | 100 Ideas For Cities

Stormwater runoff from the street is directed into “bioswales”, a planted depression, where the stormwater is purified and infiltrated into the ground, preventing runoff into the storm drains. Where high traffic areas prevent the retrofitting of bioswales throughout the city, permeable pavements could be a way around that.
