Riverwalk Park Gateway, West Sacramento

The gateway plan is a streetscape and way-finding design connecting the business district and residential area with the park.

The concept is inspired by Da Vinci’s sketches of water and a reference to West Sacramento’s natural and cultural history. Before the levy was built the streets would flood. The older houses were adaptively built with entrances on the second floor and residents commuted by boat.
