The coastal esplanades run north-south along the beach as a poured concrete path providing recreation for residents and visitors of the Gold Coast.
While the esplanade makes beach to beach connections and runs along the beachfront, the Gold Coast has an opportunity to consider neighbourhood function and aesthetics .
The esplanade has few to no transportation connections and linked streetscape extending the esplanade east-west. By including tree planting grates, lighting, shade trees and much-widened pavements in key residential streets leading to a transport hub on the Highway (at least every 2-4kms), the esplanade is now a landmark and a destination - and a commitment to pedestrian trail connections.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful homes. I love old neighborhoods w/ cahracter. I would leave the stone sign flanked by waterfalls and the guard gate in a second for one of these! That era of homes is one of my very favorite, we spend lots of time driving through the old neighborhoods down the hill from us. Thanks for sharing. :)Jeni
